This post is dedicated to the only woman in my life (apart from the other two), who works at a playschool.
I first came across the delightful Joyce Grenfell via my mother when I was about 10. She had a couple of LPs (ask your parents, kids) with her work on there, and whilst most of it was screechy womanly singing, there were a couple of talky bits called "Nursery School." Like Bob Newhart, this is truly timeless comedy that hasn't aged in over 50 years, and also like Bob Newhart, is a one sided monologue. Take a teacher of young children, and record her talking to them. You don't hear the kids (you don't need to), but you just imagine some of their characters. Especially 'George.'
Enjoy.
