I'd never been one for giving people money from the National Lottery. This, I suspect, is because I'm the artist's equivalent of tone deaf. I can't see the point in dancing or singing, and painting and sculpture is really only just tolerated. Poetry should be the mainstay of "There once was a man from..." and the poet laureate seems to me to be a waste of time.
Except there are exceptions. Banksy is superb as an artist. Stomp would entertain me immensely. And as for poetry, I have found a gem. Done in the style of John Betjemen, this is the tale of the technical fault.
Enjoy.
